Shadow
Shadow
Town: Hobart, Tasmania
Deaf dog: Shadow, Dalmatian mix, 10 months.
We adopted Shadow from Doggie Rescue in Sydney. We had a blind dog which passed away due to old age and sickness. So we decided to help another dog in need. As our other dog Gizmo was very upset at the loss of his friend. We would like to thank her foster mum Janine Carson. Shadow made herself right at home. Gismo and Shadow are now like and old married couple. She loves going to the dogie park which has a beach. There she runs around free, plays chasings with all her doggie friends. She is the most loving dog and will even jump up on your knee for a nurse just like a cat.
Human companions: Lorraine, Ailsia (18), Zara (5)
Other pets: 1 dog Gizmo, 4 cats and three rats.

Deaf dog: Chester is a 7 week old Staffie/Blue Heeler mix. "We purchased him from a pet store believing that he was 6 weeks old. After taking him for his vaccinations and check up, found him to be about 3 weeks old. Chester is a very affectionate and loveable pup with a personality all of his own. We wouldn't give him up for anything."

Spotty
Spotty
Town: Hobart, Tasmania
Deaf dog: Spotty is a 10 year old Dalmatian. "I was 14 when Spotty came into my life. My mother and I got him as a puppy from a Dalmatian breeder for no charge due to his deafness. Now he is loved like part of the family and we think he's priceless. He has a loving temperament and loves to play even now in his old age. Despite people considering deaf dogs to be a burden, especially puppies, Spotty was relativly easy to train and is very obedient. Being deaf myself, Spotty and I have a special understanding."
Human companions: Leearna Barwick, her mother Carol, father Michael and son Zeno.
